Since I'm so spontaneous, I ALWAYS keep my Ipod set to shuffle, I like surprises ;D Anyways, I have a friend who occassionally posts to his blog the first 10 songs that happen to pop up on his Ipod when he sets it to shuffle. He calls it a temporary "window into his soul"....a bit melodramatic no? But I think it would be fun to see what everyone listens to and might help us get to know each other a little better. I thought it would be fun to start a thread to do the same, if not daily then whenever you think about it. Maybe if you don't keep yours set to shuffle all the time, you'll at least try it occassionally...it can be fun So, set your Ipod, Zune, MP3 player-of-choice to random/shuffle and post your first 10 songs, as my friend Bo says "with woefully insufficient regard for potential embarrassment or ridicule...." So, in that spirit, here were the first 10 songs that popped up on my Ipod this morning: "Anytime" by My Morning Jacket "Dark Clouds Above" by The Nightwatchman "Woman" by Damon Johnson "Morning Glory" by Oasis "Song to Sing When I'm Lonely" by John Frusciante "A Southern Thing" by Better Than Ezra "Bulls On Parade" by Rage Against The Machine "Alone Without You" by The Nightwatchman (Bonnaroo 2007) "Bad Magick" by Godsmack "Seasons" by Chris Cornell Nothing too bad this time around....might not be so lucky tomorrow....

Cool idea.
1. " Las Blues de Creve de Faim" ~ Beausoleil 2. "Down Fo' Boogie" ~ Tesla 3. "Brother" Alice in ~ Chains 4. "Ming +FS" ~ STS9 5. "Wena Othanda" ~ Ladysmith Black Mamabazo 6. "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" ~ Countdown Mix Masters 7. "Monkey on My Back" ~ Aerosmith 8. "Closedown" ~ The Cure 9. " Immigrant Song" ~ Led Zeppelin 10. "Outside the Wall" ~ Pink Floyd
It's quite the jarring order but not too embarrassing yet. This is like Russian Roullete, sooner or later that dirty little secret artist will come up.
I can live with admitting the BeeGee's are on my pod, but I'm glad I only have White Lion on vinyl ( it's sealed never opened!) and not on my I-pod.
Interesting how "Nightw A Tchman" got censored in your list.

Interesting how "Nightw A Tchman" got censored in your list. LOL! I hadn't even noticed the censoring! That IS funny! I"ll have to look into that....wonder why on earth??? I think the censored (Nighthingychman) version sounds dirtier than the original version Yeah, the transitions can be quite jarring, that's what is so fun....and yep, the fun is finding out those guilty pleasures...like how many American Idol finalists people have on there....uh huh....I'll cop to have 1 - just 1 - Kelly Clarkson song on my IPod.... EDIT: LMFAO!!!! I just figured out why the Night watch man got censored (yeah, I'm a bit slow today...ok that one I would be slow on most days!) Don't ever use that word so.....didn't even THINK about it being on the list.....sooooo funny! Hmmm, maybe we should start one of those "How many different words can you make out of THIS word" games..... Hee! Obviously I wouldn't win.....

EDIT: LMFAO!!!! I just figured out why the Night watch man got censored (yeah, I'm a bit slow today...ok that one I would be slow on most days!) I'm pretty slow too. I just figured out why Spoon ( S p oon ) got censored the other day. We apparently have a very PC language filter that is aware of lots of slang. Tipper Gore would be proud.

LOL! You are (very politically) correct!! Actually (but shhh!) that list is adjustable....I don't think we have an exactly PG-13 audience on this board so we could probably let S p oon get by...ya think???

Today's Random 10:
One Man Revolution - The Nightwatchman (Bonnaroo 2007) St Andrew (This Battle is in the Air) - White Stripes Ball and Biscuit - White Stripes Rusty Cage - Soundgarden Hands All Over - Soundgarden How Long - Brother Cane Fistful of Steel - Rage Agaist the Machine Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden Lonely Train - Black Stone Cherry Dani California - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Looks like the shuffle got stuck in a Soundgarden loop for a while, but that's cool with me - not like I don't have a TON of it to choose from ;D

1. "I heard I was in Town ~ Jimmy Buffet2 2. "The Sound of Milwaukee" ~ Fatboy Slim 3. "Get on Out" ~ Soul Asylum 4. "Pressure" ~ Stereo MC's 5. "Holidays in the Sun" ~ Sex Pistols 6. "Miss Clare Remembers" ~ Enya ( Horrid transition here) 7. "Another Girl, Another Planet" ~ Blink 182 8. " Natives are Restless Tonight" ~ Jimmy Buffett 9. "Hum Hallelujah" ~ Fallout Boy 9 10. Todays list:
1. "Platinum Blond Life" ~ No Doubt 2. "Swan,Swan, Hummingbird" ~ R.E.M. 3. "Someday" ~ Sugar Ray 4. "Broon's Bane" ~ Rush 5. "Jaded" ~ Green Day 6. "Danger Zone" ~ Gwen Stefani 7. " The Power of Equality" ~ Red Hot Chili Peppers 8. " My Old Friend the Blues" ~ The Proclaimers 9. " To Lay Me Down" ~ Cowboy Junkies ( from Deadicated... actually a pretty good covers album) 10. "Bleed Together" ~ Soundgarden
Was actually a pretty nice build up for the drive in. The Cowboy Junkies were a little slow but actually coincided with my wait in line to drive through the gate to base which need to be a mellow point anyway. I've been yelled at by the gate guards for playing music too loud while driving through the gate; in my defense I forgot I had the top down.
