As in near City Park? There isn't much in the way of hotels/motels NEAR City Park that I remember.....but if you stay ANYWHERE near the CBD, Garden District or Quarter you can take city buses or streetcars directly to and from the festie every day. That's what we did last year....PLUS you'd be within walking distance of bars/restaurants etc at night which is better than staying out near the Park.....which is kinda between NOLA proper and Metarie....The Canal Line will take you to the entrance of the park. It's like $5 for a weekend pass and last year they had TONS of extra buses and street cars running for the fest. The "official" buses from the Marriot were like an extra $60 and they only had like FOUR total.....LMAO! Like THAT was gonna be enough to handle the crowds...MUCH better off to go with the mass trans....

^^Agree.
And riding back on the Streetcar is a trip. Like the drunk bus in Ocean City (or any drunk bus, if you've ever been on one).
FUN!
